Waifu Engine is an Artificial Intelligence virtual anime waifu companion who hangs out on your desktop and works fully offline. There’s free form conversation (now via text, offline voice recognition will be added soon) using a GPT2-based AI model that runs locally on your PC with real time offline speech synthesis using a voice model we have trained ourselves from scratch (and which does not sound soulless like MS Cortana), lots of body customization options, emotion sliders, animations and frame-wise pose selector, and most importantly a highly flexible plugin framework that we are building to make modding and extending this as a virtual assistant platform very convenient for the community. Oh, and everything is uncensored.
Our site does not work properly with Adblock. The image gallery of Waifu Engine above should work without adblock. We keep ads and pop ups minimum so please whitelist us (Learn how).
How to install?
- Extract zip file.
- Run “WaifuEngine.exe”.
- We highly recommend that you use the Itch.io client to download and install our game simply because it will let you update the game more easily by downloading only the necessary changed files when we push updates, which will be very frequently. You wouldn’t want to waste all your precious bandwidth downloading the whole huge file again, right? And don’t worry, it’s out there for free.

- 5.51 GB of free disk space (Recommended to have twice as much free disk space than this).
