So, what exactly is Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports? Well, it’s a collection of 4 sports that you can enjoy either solo or with up to 4 players. I know what you’re thinking: only 4 sports? That can’t be good! Let me just say that I’ve played many game collections like this with only a few sports available and some of them are done so well that the small selection doesn’t matter at all. However, when you start playing any of the sports here, you’ll quickly realise that isn’t the case. For starters, you have basketball, tennis, golf, and soccer; all of which have been done infinitely better by Mario and friends, funnily enough. On the bright side, the characters are represented very well here with funny animations, solid voice work, and nicely cel-shaded 3D models. Unfortunately, that’s the best thing I can say.Let’s discuss the actual sports. My favourite is tennis because it’s generally playable. It has either 1-on-1 or doubles matches and hitting the ball with the different face buttons as you charge and aim can be fairly enjoyable. Basketball is okay but it’s way too easy to score points so you’ll mostly just run back and forth while everyone sinks 3-pointers. Soccer plays pretty much the same except it’s almost impossible to score.

There are so many glitches is Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports that it can be hard to play. Once in a basketball match, the ball flew out of the arena far into the air and when playing golf, my putt went in the hole but it didn’t count for some reason. You can see both of those incidents in the gameplay video attached below. At the same time, the AI is embarrassingly bad. What they do is play each sport perfectly then occasionally completely screw up. In golf, they’ll perform all sorts of trick shots off of hazards then all of a sudden, miss an easy putt on purpose. In tennis, you’ll rally back and forth then the AI player will abruptly just stand there and let the ball fly past them. In basketball and soccer, the AI players merely run around and don’t do anything so you’ll manually swap between them.Of course, you don’t have to play with AI players if you have 4 local chums to play with. Doing so will provide the most amount of entertainment that you can get from Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports but it’s still not fun.
