Planet is a combat-based platform adventure that pits a spunky dragon girl and her friends against an alien attack force. There’s trouble around every turn, from insects to giant robots to sheer explosive destruction, but you’ll have a variety of special fighting abilities to blast your way through each stage.

As Lilac, you can use Dragon powers to whip enemies with your hair, spin like a cyclone, or fly through the air at high speed like a comet. this is more of a love letter to the Sega Genesis era as a whole than just Sonic. Big flashy pixel art, fast action, and some of the coolest boss fights in a 2D Platformer I’ve ever seen bring up Treasure/Konami comparisons in the best way. The different playable characters all play quite differently from each other along with some even having different branches in the story. Freedom Planet really comes together as an incredible game filled with set-piece moments and some of the catchiest music tracks out there.
