So far this is the best replacement I’ve found for the Motorstorm series on PS3. It is not the same, there’s more focus on jumping, doing tricks and timing the turbo. I’m not yet sure if that’s better or worse than Motorstorm – perhaps it’s just different in its own way? The vehicles (vehicle classes) aren’t as varied, but I don’t really miss the selection that much. The maps also feel less polished, but each is fun to race and they all have their distinctive personality.

The most important thing is that this game is fun to play, it has that “one more race” gripe to it that Motorstorm had. And while I will still be on lookout to find that perfect modern copy the the PS3 arcade racing legend, I’ll also gladly return back to this game as the next best thing so far with it’s unique little spin on the gameplay.
