Kalimba is a superb single-or-local-co-op experience that totally redefines puzzle platforming. This title should be a case study in any video game design course. Not only are the puzzles fantastically fun, but the artwork, music, and characters are outstanding. This is a must-have for anyone who wants to play from the couch, and even more so if you have a friend (or five! – yes this can get crazy).

Essentially, each IRL player controls two wooden logs (totem pole segments) at the same time. Different colored totem sections can only go into like colors, which is where the puzzles begin. Your brain will twist, and you will struggle, and then you will rejoice when you succeed. In that order. The levels are devilishly difficult, but this is balanced by them being fairly short so you don’t get too frustrated.
