Really, really good. There’s a lot of permanent things to unlock (like in Dead Cells), and the artstyle is as lovecraftian as it gets. The only little downside is that with these bizarro generated monsters… you never know which limb is the “business” limb, so combat is very chaotic, rather than precise like in soulsbornes… but that doesn’t matter – its still fun. While this game can be addictively fun as you go the course, there are balancing issues that make this game more of an annoyance than something that’s actually fun to play. I will admit,

I really do enjoy this game’s play loop. It’s something that will keep you pushing further and further as you go along. That is, until you are met with elemental status effects. I’m not one to complain about those type of issues because usually other games have a way of mitigating the effects, or even to avoid them all out. So far, I have not found that to be the case in this game.
